Position available:
Swim School All- Rounder
Part/Full Time, 30-38 hours/week
Swim Skills is looking for swimming teachers experienced in the delivery of baby/toddler, learn to swim and squad programs, to take on a diverse role, consisting of Star Swimming Teacher/Receptionist/Pool Operations duties.
This multi-faceted role is aimed at expert teachers, who wish to use their knowledge of the industry to provide top quality learn to swim lessons, and develop their skills in different areas of the business.
Part/Full time (30-38 hours per week)
Saturday Swimming Teaching is a prerequisite to the role
Approximately 20-25 hours of Swimming Teaching per week, with the balance as receptionist and pool operations.
Split shifts with flexible start/finish times:
-Mornings ~7:30am to ~12:30pm
-Midday ~12:00pm to ~3:00pm
-Afternoon ~3:00pm to ~6:30pm
The applicant should have the following qualifications:
-SCTA/AUSTSWIM: Teacher of Swimming
-SCTA/AUSTSWIM: Teacher of Babies and Toddlers
-Working with children check BlueCard
-CPR certificate
Preferred additional qualifications:
-Pool Operators Certificate
-SCTA/AUSTSWIM: Competitive strokes
We will provide funded courses for these additional qualifications.
As our new Swim School All-rounder, you will be responsible for:
Receptionist:
Maintain a high level of customer service at all times
Have a great understanding of the Swim Skills certificate system
Liaise with parents pool side to discuss progress of their child
Answer the phone
Take new bookings
Handle customer enquiries promptly, according to our policies and with professionalism
Reply to emails
Check and reply to phone messages
Check and enter student attendance
Mark off students achievement stars for their certificate
Handle cash and enter payments
Balance tills daily
Ensure the business premises is always clean and safe at all times
General cleaning duties and pool operations
Maintain stock levels of kiosk products and follow re ordering procedure
Star Swimming Teacher:

Lead your team by example, by providing high energy, knowledgable and effective lessons.
Assist in training of staff by performing lead teacher role with trainee assistance, and conduct pre/post lesson teacher training sessions
Assist with planning and conducting monthly/quarterly/yearly training sessions
Smile :)
Gain and hold the attention of students of different age groups
Work hard for the benefit of progressing students through the program
Always move to create a high energy and engaging lesson
Set an example with the way you behave in the water
Know each child's name, form a report, know their strengths, limitations, what stage they are at, where you want to get them and how to do it
Have a willingness to grow as a teacher, to partake in career long training and to accept and integrate new teaching techniques
Are innovative with their delivery of the swimming program
Ask questions of your mentor teachers and be proactive in obtaining knowledge from other sources
Create positive relationships with all staff and always be available to help
Maintain a safe learning environment for all students
Liaise with parents on the progress of students swimming
Are personally responsible for the safety of children and their physical, social, emotional and mental development
Have a commitment to leave students with a life-long lasting, positive memory of their lessons, their teacher and their swim school

Swim Skills will assist you to provide learn to swim lessons to a wide variety of students with qualifications in:

-SCTA/AUSTSWIM: Teacher of Babies and Toddlers
-SCTA/AUSTSWIM: Competitive strokes
We will provide full reimbursement of the cost of the qualifications after 12 month of employment.
